I went to HEC Montreal, Canada as an exchange student in the fall of 2019, which was a great business school with advanced facilities located in the cultural city, Montreal, Quebec. The biggest gain for me from this exchange experience was to immerse myself into 100% English education environment, enabled me not only improve my English capacity but also experienced the different education concept between the Chinese school and the western one. In comparison with the courses I learn from the Chinese school, there were more practical opportunities and the interaction between professors and students in the class in HEC so that I could absorb the knowledge more efficiently and solidify my theoretical basis in the practice.
Besides the study, I also heard more voices and insights from different people with diverse cultural backgrounds after the thorough communications with them, which deepened my understanding of the cultural difference and triggered the contemplation of my personal and social development. Generally, this exchange experience is a fantastic and unforgettable memory for me, it broadens my horizon and helps me to form the international vision, I firmly believe it’s where my global career starts.
The exchange is one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences in my life. I feel really lucky to be one of Lingnan which provides for us so many international programs. During the exchange, I learned things in a totally new education system, made friends with people from all over the world, traveled around and felt how different cultures blend in harmony. This experience widely broadened my horizons and greatly enhanced my independence, which I will always be grateful for.
When looking back at the photos from Europe, I miss much my amazing exchange journey at Bocconi University. I appreciate that Lingnan College and Bocconi University gave me this fantastic opportunity. During the four months, my critical thinking was trained under the teaching mode in a different environment. Lecture was the most common form, where we were always encouraged to raise questions and debate. Various case study and group projects allowed me to solve practical problems with financial theories and listen to voices of people across the globe. Outside the classroom, I went on short trips to other countries to experience new cultures, which further provided me with new perspectives to the world.
