In order to enhance the scientific research literacy and innovative spirit of undergraduate students, and increase the training of innovative top-notch talents, School of Accounting has implemented the “Undergraduate Academic Talent Incubation Program” from this semester, aiming to improve students’ comprehensive quality, discover and train talents with scientific research potential. The plan is an important measure for School of Accounting to lead the high-quality development with high-quality Party Building and promote “Party Building+Talent Training”. In order to help students solve the practical difficulties encountered in applying for this program and answer the problems they faced in their first application, School of Accounting held the special lecture on the application guidance of the “Undergraduate Academic Talent Incubation Program” in Conference Room 245 of Quan Xue Building on the afternoon of April 11. The lecture was presided over by vice dean Kejing Chen, and invited Associate Professors Mei Zhao and Yu Wang from the school to give a wonderful special lecture for 91 students who are interested in applying for this program.
Dean Chen first introduced the goals and relevant measures of setting up the "Undergraduate Academic Talent Incubation Program", and made ceremony of introducing the outstanding academic achievements of the two outstanding speakers.
Then, the two speakers gave the lecture focusing on “How to Write a Program Application Form” and “How to Write an Academic Paper” by quotation from a number of sources. Professor Zhao pointed out that good papers are not a short duration to write. Students can only write valuable papers by reading more excellent academic papers over the years, making full use of journal resources of library, practicing more, communicating with teachers and classmates, learning from each other's strengths and overcoming the weaknesses, and accumulating valuable knowledge. In addition, Professor Wang also introduced how the process from topic selection to research can be efficiently carried out step by step. The guidance of the two speakers is diligent, meticulous, organized, and particularly good at providing examples, allowing students to integrate theory with practice and master research skills easily.
After the presentation, the two associate professors actively interacted with the students and patiently answered various related questions. This lecture provided the attending students with answers to their doubts about the “Undergraduate Academic Talent Incubation Program”, as well as the writing of application forms and research processes, allowing them to have more appreciation and inspiration for academic research. The lecture finally came to an end successfully in a warm atmosphere.
The "Undergraduate Academic Talent Incubation Program" is an important part of School of Accounting’s solid implementation of theme education. School of Accounting will combine the theme education with the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Committee, and the University’s Party Committee, as well as the promotion of school’s development work. The school will guide the development practice by strengthening theoretical learning, penetrate into teachers and students, ask for advice from them, and seeking advice in practice to solve the problems for development, reform, teachers, and students, and enhance the effectiveness of thematic education practically.
