From August 19th to 21st, 2023, the 8th edition of the "Academic Research and Paper Writing" (Accounting Special Topic) seminar of Journal of Management World was held in Dalian. This event is hosted by the Economic Research Institute of Journal of Management World and co organized by School of Accounting of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. This seminar invited famous experts from the Central University of Finance and Economics, the University of International Business and Economics, and Fudan University for lectures and sharing. Scholars from multiple universities such as Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Henan University of Finance and Law, as well as more than 180 teachers and students from our university, participated in the seminar.
Xuhui Wang, member of CPC DUFE Standing Committee and Vice President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, attended the seminar opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Xuhui Wang warmly congratulated on the successful convening of this seminar and warmly welcomed all the guests present. Xuhui Wang stated that Journal of Management World has been advocating for the construction of a discipline system, academic system, and discourse system with Chinese characteristics, style, and grandeur for many years, studying major practical issues in China's economic and social development, and making great contributions to the prosperity and development of China's management discipline. Journal of Management World has entrusted this seminar to our university for co organization, fully demonstrating the trust and support for our university.
Xi Wu, Dean, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Accounting at Central University of Finance and Economics, presented a lecture titled “The ‘Tao’ and ‘Technique’ of Academic Research and Writing in Accounting”. In the lecture, he introduced the “path”, “principle”, and “ethics” in research and their important significance in the review process through examples, and explained the supporting role of "Technique" in "Tao".
Jigao Zhu, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Business School at the University of International Business and Economics, presented statistical data on case studies published in the field of accounting and finance, interpreted the support policies of Ministry of Education for case studies, and shared the methods of case studies based on his own publishing experience.
Yunsen Chen, Director, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the Development and Planning Department of Central University of Finance and Economics, presented the important significance of topic selection in the field of accounting and finance research with the title "Accounting and Finance Research: Topic Selection, Writing, and Publication". He also introduced the learning methods of empirical research and the considerations for revising papers.
Chenkai Ni, Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Management at Fudan University, summarized the evolution of China's fiscal and taxation system with the title "Fiscal and Taxation Reform and Capital Market: Key Points for Paper Selection and Writing". He also explained the selection methods and writing considerations in the field of finance, taxation and capital market.
In the academic writing review section, 8 authors reported their papers separately. Professor Yunsen Chen, Associate Professor Chenkai Ni, and the teachers from editorial department of Journal of Management World commented on the papers.
Journal of Management World is an academic journal managed and sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council, founded in 1985.
