The Graduate Student from the School of Accounting Participated in the 2023 The Frontier Forum on Climate Risk and Financial Markets

From June 17 to June 18, 2023, the 2023 Frontier Forum on Climate Risk and Financial Markets was held in Chengdu, hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University School of Economics and Management, organized by the RESSET database, and co organized by the Financial Forecast Research Center and the Chengdu Green Low Carbon Development Research Base. The forum was attended by over 300 experts and scholars from over 90 prestigious universities and research institutions around the world, aiming to discuss the new ideas, topics, and achievements of financial markets in addressing climate risks together.

The forum opened under the auspices of Professor Qiang Guo, Executive Dean of Southwest Jiaotong University School of Economics and Management. At the opening ceremony, Changjun Liu, Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University, Xiaoguang Yang, Chairman of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Systems Engineering Society of China, and Songqing Yue, General Manager of Beijing Gildata RESSET Data Tech Co., Ltd. delivered speeches successively. Professor Eric Yeung from Cornell University, Professor Le'an Yu from Sichuan University, Professor Zhongfei Li from Southern University of Science and Technology, Professor Yuejun Zhang from Hunan University, and Professor Dengshi Huang from Southwest Jiaotong University delivered keynote speeches for the forum.

This forum has a total of 33 sub forums, including multiple themes such as "Climate Risk and Financial Markets", "Systemic Risk Measurement in Financial Markets", "Digital Economy", "Financial Markets: Modeling and Pricing", "Climate Risk and Sustainable Development", "Climate Risk and Corporate Finance", "Climate Change and Supply Chain Finance", "Green Finance", and "Carbon Finance". Weijie Zhang, a doctoral student from School of Accounting of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, presented a paper titled "The rewarding effect of climate change governance on new energy enterprises: Based on the event study and DID analysis of China's entry into the Paris Agreement" at the 26th sub forum, which produced a lively discussion among the attending delegates.

Liang Li, Vice Dean of Southwest Jiaotong University School of Economics and Management, presided over the closing ceremony, and Qiang Guo, Executive Dean of Southwest Jiaotong University School of Economics and Management, summarized the forum.
