School of Accounting Held the Preliminary Contest for the 2023-2024 Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Teaching Excellence Award Selection within the School

On September 4, 2023, according to the requirements of the Circular on Organizing the Application of Teaching Excellence Award of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics for 2023-2024 Academic Year, in Room 246 of Quan Xue Building, School of Accounting successfully held the preliminary contest of the Teaching Excellence Award Selection within the School. A total of 14 full-time teachers from School of Accounting applied for the contest, which was judged by Professor Jingsheng Wang, Professor Wenming Chen, Professor Yanxiu Niu and Professor Cuiyu Ren.

This preliminary contest consists of two sessions: a 3-minute personal presentation and a critique by the judges. Participants introduced their teaching, achievements and future development plans from the aspects of course teaching, teaching awards, teaching reform, teaching materials compilation, guiding students, and curriculum development. The judges provided comments and guidance based on the overall performance of the participants. After a comprehensive evaluation by the judges, 11 participants were finally recommended to represent School of Accounting to participate in the university-level selection.

The contest fully demonstrated the excellent tradition of our middle-aged and young teachers to concentrate on teaching and cultivate teaching reform deeply. The participants all undertake heavy teaching tasks, serve as the instructors of many courses during the same period, and make great contributions to the education and teaching innovation of School of Accounting, obtaining fruitful results in deepening the blended teaching reform, researching and developing courses related to new technologies, applying teaching reform research projects, summarizing the teaching achievements, and practicing the concept of ideological and political education, etc., actively transforming the results obtained into teaching resources, such as instructing students to participate in the “Internet+” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects, Case Competitions and other competitions at all levels of disciplines, compiling new teaching materials, implementing process-based assessment, carrying out the construction of virtual teaching and research offices, and serving as teaching supervisors, etc., and continuously contributing to the construction of disciplines in School of Accounting.

In the last Teaching Excellence Awards, four teachers from School of Accounting won the first prize, three won the second prize and six won the third prize, which ranked first in the university in terms of the number of awards and prizes. In this preliminary contest within the School, through the pre-competition preparation and on-site critique, the participants fully combed their own education and teaching work and clarified the direction of their future efforts. The School will also continue to increase investment in teaching competitions, assist the teachers of our School in continuously improving their teaching ability and professional level, and enhance the level of our faculty and the quality of education and teaching.
