On October 21-22, 2023, the "Soaring Think Tank Forum - The 2nd Digital Economy and Corporate Governance Summit", co-sponsored by the Office of Science and Technology of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the School of Management of Northwestern Polytechnical University, was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The theme of the summit this year was "Digital Economy Leads to High-Quality Development", and nearly 120 representatives from 57 colleges and universities across China attended the meeting. The summit also had the live video broadcast for the entire network, with thousands of teachers and students from various colleges and universities, and enterprise personnel watching online.
The opening ceremony was opened with a welcome speech by Professor Ada Che, Dean of the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University. Professor Wei Huang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Lianfu Ma, Vice Dean of the Institute of Corporate Governance of China at Nankai University, Professor Minghua Gao from Business School of Beijing Normal University, and Ran Yi, Director of China Mobile Big Data Center made keynote reports respectively.
This forum focuses on the digital economy and corporate governance, with three parallel forums. Junjie Wang, a doctoral student from School of Accounting at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, presented a paper in collaboration with his supervisor Professor Yan Chen titled "Exploring the Relationship between Corporate ESG Performance and Corporate Violation: Based on Fraud Triangle Theory", which triggered a heated discussion among the attending delegates.
The Summit this year showcased the latest research results in the field of digital economy and corporate governance in recent years, built a platform for exchanges and cooperation between university scholars and emerging enterprises in the digital economy, and promoted the integration of theoretical studies and management practices.
