At the beginning of the activity, Mr. Kaiming Wang introduced the participating teachers and welcomed the participating students. The activity took the form of a face-to-face tea party between teachers and students, with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, hoping to better help students solve problems in learning, life, career planning and other aspects, and promote the comprehensive development of students.
First, students asked questions about further education, such as what competencies are needed for a PhD. Regarding this issue, Dean Hang Liu and Associate Professor Zhenyang Zhao, on the basis of their own learning and teaching experiences and in the light of current academic research status at home and abroad, put forward the suggestion that doctoral students majoring in accounting should pay more attention to the principles behind them, and beware of concentrating only on technical theories.
Next, students asked questions about career planning and scheduling. Mr. Mo Chen gave his advice on this issue. He first fully affirmed the students' career planning ideas, saying that students should plan their careers according to their own personalities and specialties, and encouraged them to choose higher platforms. He introduced the employment situation in accounting firms as well as state-owned enterprises respectively to analyze the situation for the students.
The issue of internship during undergraduate studies was of great interest to the students during the activity. Dean Hang Liu and Director Rui Liu affirmed the students' ideas about internships and, according to their needs for internships, said that they would contact enterprises and practice bases to gradually provide formal internships for the students.
As for the time arrangement problems raised by the freshmen, Mr. Kaiming Wang introduced the curriculum planning arrangement of the university and said that the first semester is an adaptation process for students to enter the university, and students have to adapt to the university environment by focusing on their studies, improve their adaptability, and better integrate into the academic atmosphere of the university in the future study life.
In addition, students asked questions about academics, such as selecting a topic for a paper, how they can read papers quickly, how to publish a paper, and how to view summer camp papers. All the teachers gave professional answers.
Dean Hang Liu also answered the classic and hot issues of the dissertation topic raised by the doctoral students, "We should look up to the stars as well as keep our feet on the ground", Dean Liu's kind words not only guided the confusion of the doctoral students but also provided valuable experience for other students who participated in the activity.
In this activity, the teachers' words were funny and humorous, and under the relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, all the students solved their own confusion, and benefited a lot, and at the same time helped the continuous innovation and development of student activities in School of Accounting. This activity was successfully concluded in a warm and fulfilling atmosphere.
The success of the “Accounting for the Present, Calculating for the Future” Dean & Secretary Tea Party Series (Issue 1) is a continuation of the Face-to-Face with Dean & Secretary activity of the previous semester, and it also provides a better communication platform for the leaders, teachers and students of the School. The second Tea Party will be held in the near future, and the School will continue to understand the students' demands and confusions in advance, and invite guests tailor-made for the students. Students from School of Accounting can come to the activity on their own according to the time and venue of the activity that will be announced later, and gain something from the close communication with the teachers.
