Recently, the Educational Department of Liaoning Province announced the results of 2023 Outstanding Graduate Students’ Supervisor and Outstanding Graduate Students’ Supervisor Team in Liaoning Province, and the Graduate Students’ Supervisor Team of School of Accounting, headed by Professor Hang Liu (Members: Professor Guangguo Sun, Professor Yanli Chen, Professor Yingbing Jiang, and Associate Professor Zhenyang Zhao) was honored as the 2023 Outstanding Graduate Students’ Supervisor Team in Liaoning Province. This award is an important achievement for the School in strengthening the construction of graduate students’ supervisor team, fully implementing the essential task of moral education, educating students based on their own positions, giving full play to the exemplary leading role of the outstanding graduate students’ supervisor team, and showing responsibilities and actions in the new breakthroughs of comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning Province.
The team supervisors strive to practice the norms of professional ethics, educate and guide students to correctly understand the responsibility of the times and history mission. They are clear about the professional foundation and research ability of individual graduate students, purposefully guide students to enter the research field that is suitable for their knowledge structure and maximize their innovative ability. They have a deep understanding of the mentality of graduate students, understand their environment and process of growth, and do a good job of education and guidance in the process of caring and helping. They guide graduate students to abide by the academic ethical norms, and wholeheartedly serve as guides for students to refine their character, learn knowledge, innovate their thinking, and dedicate themselves to the country.
The team has achieved fruitful achievements in graduate student supervising. The supervisors and students have published dozens of papers in Chinese and English journals, such as Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, Accounting Research, Finance & Trade Economics, Auditing Research, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, China Journal of Accounting Research, etc. A number of postgraduates went to the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and other well-known universities for further study, and some students joined Xiamen University, Jinan University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanxi University and other well-known universities in China. Among the postgraduate dissertations written by the students supervised by the team, 2 were awarded provincial excellent dissertations and 16 were awarded university excellent dissertations.
